5/16/13 Bike Adventure #2
If you live in Minneapolis and have never been to Elouise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary in Theodore Wirth Park, YOU MUST GO! It is a great place to revisit often as new flowers are constantly blooming throughout the summer. It’s a great getaway for individuals, couples or for the whole family.
Exploring is always better when there is more than one person involved. Isaac kept me company on this Minneapolis bike path journey. We met at the Walker Sculpture Garden and headed west to Cedar Lake. Just north of Cedar Lake is my new favorite lake, Brownie Lake. We climbed some trees and pet some dogs. I want to return to return with my favorite desert next time, eat warm brownies a la mode at Brownie Lake!
We didn’t get to explore Theodore Wirth Park as much as we would have liked to. There is the Quaking Bog of Wirth Park, which I intend to visit next time round, the history here is intriguing.
I do believe the next bike adventure will be along the Minnehaha trail. Starting at the southwest corner of Lake Harriet going west past Lake Nokomis and Lake Hiawatha to Minnehaha Falls and heading back north along the river.
I have a new found love of Minneapolis. Riding my bike along the lakes in this city is so freeing to me. It’s almost better than chocolate!
